random acts of kindness

Have you ever done something really nice for someone else? Has someone done such a thing for you? I want to celebrate that. I want to celebrate nice things.

I love receiving random acts of kindness. I love people who do kind things for others. I love giving out niceness. I love going out of my way to make someone smile.

This blog will include anything in these categories. Please submit stories about acts you’ve done or received (anonymously or not), things you want to do for others, ideas for random acts of kindness, tales of friendship, and anything else you can think of!

In the last couple years of his life, my dad met a blind man. He would take him out to places, such as baseball games and restaurants, and vividly describe everything that he saw. At the memorial, this man said that my father was the best friend he ever had.

Today, I was walking around the local mall by my lonesome. All I was here for was to purchase birthday presents for two of my friends this week. Soon, my parents would be here to pick me up. As I was walking toward the escalator I noticed two girls looking at me, I thought nothing of it. But as I was walking the two girls approach me. To my surprise they just smile at me and hand me an index card. I was dumbfounded. I had no idea what this was for or why they handed it to me. I thought it was absolutely strange. On a theatre course you get asked to do a lot of random things; some weird and some completely wonderful. This was one of the latter.

My homework this week was 7 Random Acts of Kindness.

And No. 1 were these bad boys, compliments which I drew on some card, took to my nearest bookshop and hid between the pages of different books. In the hope that some will buy them and receive a small surprise.
